We have released the KONNECT Prototype Module, a full-scale installation that serves as the definitive benchmark for our engineering and manufacturing standards. By transitioning from digital designs to a functional AI/HPC Module, we offer a transparent look at the layout and technical rigor that define our builds. This installation allows prospective buyers and partners to physically see the build quality and ergonomics of our high-density infrastructure, providing a tangible proof of concept that goes beyond specifications. This physical demonstration ensures that every AI/HPC solution we deliver is not only optimized for extreme workloads but is also backed by a proven, professional architecture ready for immediate deployment.

challenge

Versatile Approach to High-Performance Computing

As AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) demands skyrocket, enterprises and service providers face a significant hurdle: conceptualizing high-density infrastructure. Visualizing how a Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU), liquid-to-chip manifolds, and specialized power distribution fit into a modular footprint is built through 3D drawings. After this, we want to see and feel the real outcome of our ideas. Partners and suppliers can validate their hardware’s compatibility with modular cooling and power systems in a real-life module before full-scale deployment.

Modular AI/HPC Whitespace Data Room

We’ve build a life-size dedicated Prototype Module at our warehouse. The setup is the standard KONNECT AI/HPC Whitespace module from where we start all our data center projects. It consists of two primary components:

  • The AI/HPC Module: A high-density environment featuring advanced cooling infrastructure and specialized rack configurations designed for the latest generation of AI chips.

  • The Hallway Module: Showcasing the structural integrity, cable management, and ease of access that define the KONNECT architecture.

Concept to Operation

The KONNECT Whitespace Prototype Module provides prospective clients the possibility for a physical walk through the whitespace to evaluate the build quality and ergonomics firsthand. This significantly reduces the decision-making cycle by providing an immediate, tangible proof of concept. Beyond the customer experience, the unit serves as a critical integration environment where engineering partners and suppliers use the physical installation as a reference to visualize the fit of their components, ensuring that every logical and physical element of the ecosystem is verified as truly plug-and-play ready.

Pre-installed IT-racks

Every rack is pre-configured with RDHx cooling and high-amperage busbars, specifically tailored for the physical and electrical demands of AI and HPC equipment. By treating the rack as a seamless extension of the container’s structural and cooling systems, we enable a true "plug-and-play" deployment that drastically reduces onsite installation time and ensures peak hardware performance from day one.

Overhead management

Efficiency starts above the rack. The integrated overhead management system is engineered to eliminate congestion and maximize airflow within the whitespace. By utilizing dedicated pathways for power and fiber, we ensure a clean and organized layout that simplifies maintenance and future-proofing. The prototype gives us the physical space and time to test several cable trays, light-lines and piping.

Part of Whitespace Module

Each module measures 9m in length and 3.5m in height. The Whitespace module has a width of 3.5m, while the Hallway module measures 2.5m in width.

The prototype represents two sections of a complete Whitespace Unit. A fully deployed unit comprises four Whitespace modules and two Hallway modules, creating one big data room.
