Project Engineer – Full/Halftime

Location: Kontena HQ, Antwerpen

Project Engineer

We are looking for an engineer to manage the full lifecycle of our modular systems. You will be involved in the entire process: from the initial 3D drawing to the final delivery of the module. You will translate complex designs (such as cooling circuits and frame constructions) into practical applications and ensure that execution in the workshop aligns seamlessly with the technical design. Where precision is required, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

Responsabilities

  • Design & Engineering: You translate the functional requirements of a data center into a mechanical design, taking into account weight distribution and structural integrity for our modular units and the placement of internal systems.
  • Technical Workshop Management: You monitor technical progress in the workshop, ensuring the production team interprets designs correctly and resolving technical bottlenecks during construction immediately.
  • Supply Chain & BOM Management: You manage Bills of Materials, select the correct technical components, and maintain contact with suppliers regarding specifications.
  • Hands-on Installation & Optimisation: You guide and assist with the mechanical connection of installations and improve designs based on practical experience.
  • Quality Control: You oversee compliance with our quality and safety requirements throughout the entire process.

Your profile

  • Education & Experience: You are a Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor/Master or equivalent through experience) with at least 2 years of experience in machine building, modular construction, or industrial installations.
  • Technical Insight: You have a broad knowledge of mechanics and piping and understand how these integrate with electrical systems.
  • Software: You are proficient in 3D-CAD software for creating and adjusting detailed construction drawings.
  • Mentality: You are an organised talent who likes to take initiative. You switch effortlessly between precise drawing work and technical work on the floor.
  • Practice-oriented: You have demonstrable experience with the actual realisation, placement, and testing of physical installations.

We look forward to receiving your response as soon as possible via the form below.

Benefits

  • Tangible Innovation: Build high-performance infrastructure from scratch.
  • Design-to-Build: See your blueprints come to life in our on-site assembly hall.
  • Agile Environment: Direct impact with minimal bureaucracy and fast decision-making.
  • Technical Growth: Work with the latest power, cooling, and monitoring technologies.
  • Integrity & Fair Exchange: We value technical mastery with competitive, transparent compensation and a culture of straightforward, reliable teamwork.
