Kontena Delivers 275 Filtration Racks for Arkon Energy

Arkon Energy, a leader in renewable-powered data centers, is ever growing. Known for its exclusive use of renewable electricity, recently expanded operations into the United States. Their acquisition of a high-capacity data center facility in Hannibal, Ohio, markes a significant milestone. Offering up to 100 MW of data processing power. Arkon Energy uses 200 containers with an estimated capacity of 100MW across six sites. For optimal air-cooling of their miners, they need extra filtration racks on one side of each container. Who to call in need of tailored solutions? That’s right: Kontena.

We modified our standard rack system to fit these specific containers. This adaptation ensures easy installation on-site at the Ohio facility. The filtration racks seamlessly fitted onto the exterior of the data containers.
Kontena’s filtration system has a modular design, offering retrofitting onto existing data containers. This optimizing cooling efficiency through maximum surface coverage in customizable configurations.

The Outcome: Magnelis Steel Filtration Racks

All 275 racks are now fitted inside of a 40 feet container standing ready at the bay of the Antwerp harbor to set sail towards Ohio. 15 tons of magnelis steel, 700 kg spring steel, 6.8 km of cell rubber and 5000 filters are ready to be a part of this new data center.
